Market Stall

Just wrapped up the 2025 Circle Craft Holiday Market and it was a big success. Good sales, great customers, visits and chats with friends, family and other artisans. I’ve made the decision that it will be the last market I do. Leaving on a high note.

This six-day market was a lot of hard work and I simply don’t have the energy and stamina it takes to do it again another year. With huge help from my husband Martin and my kids Sam and Lucy I came to a decision that I am very content with.

This was the final curtain call after so many markets in my past. The first was at the False Creek Community Centre while I was still an art student at Emily Carr on Granville Island. Several came after that once I had my home studio - weekly through the summer and fall - taking me to Victoria, Comox, Whistler and all over Metro Vancouver, including week-long stints at Granville Island Public Market. Some of the best markets were in the school gyms and community centres.

I became very used to the routine of creating inventory, building my display, loading the vehicle, having a ’market tub’ with the cash float and credit card machine, price stickers, wrapping materials and shopping bags.

And now, I say goodbye to that market era and see what comes next, feeling very free.
